I went to this barbershop twice. Both times I had great barbers and I tipped between$15 to $20. Today, I called the barbershop to see if they were still open (there was a huge storm outside) and I asked if they accept card. Their response was "we close at 7" and "some of the barbers take card". I pull in at around 515 and I get told there's no one there at the time taking cards. I understand that I should have asked if anyone currently present there was taking cards, but I didn't so I go and withdraw $60 from the ATM which is more than enough but as mentioned before I tip between $15 to $20. After running in and out of the rain two times to try and be serviced, a guy meets me at the door to inform me they are not taking clients because they do not want the lights to go out. I understand that, which is why I called the first time to check and see if they were still open. Regardless they could have told me before I left to withdraw cash. The staff had two opportunities to tell me they weren't taking clients and waited until I walked in and out of the rain twice before telling me. I stopped going to South Austin Barbershop because of location and price but honestly the extra $15 to $20 I spend there are worth the professionalism and the quality customer service.
